What WP Engine Actually Offers
WP Engine is a genuine premium hosting platform, not a budget host with a nice logo. Their infrastructure is fast, their uptime is strong, and features like staging environments and automatic daily backups are real and useful. Plans start around $30 a month for a single site, scaling up by visitor limits and site count, with a 99.99% uptime SLA on their higher tiers.
What is not included at any tier: a person who logs into your site, notices an update broke something, and fixes it. That work is either yours, your developer's, or it does not get done. WP Engine also caps monthly visits per plan, charges overage fees past that limit, and restricts a number of plugins outright.
