Pond Apex documentation

Set up, use and fix Pond Apex.

Every setting, plus the changelog.

  • v2.11.0.0
  • WordPress 5.8 or higher (tested up to 7.1)
  • PHP 7.4+

This page shows you how to install Pond Apex, activate your license, and find its 19 modules and 7 row extensions in Beaver Builder. It also covers what each module does, how the plugin handles motion and performance, and fixes for common problems.

Requirements: WordPress 5.8 or higher (tested up to 7.1), PHP 7.4 or higher, Beaver Builder (Standard, Pro, or Agency) must be installed and active. Current version: 2.11.0.0.

Install Pond Apex

Make sure Beaver Builder is installed and active first. Pond Apex adds nothing without it, and it shows a notice in wp-admin until Beaver Builder is active.

  1. Download the Pond Apex zip file you received with your purchase.
  2. In wp-admin, go to Plugins > Add New Plugin and click Upload Plugin.
  3. Choose the zip file and click Install Now.
  4. Click Activate Plugin.
  5. Look for the new Pond Apex item in the wp-admin menu. The Pond Apex page shows whether Beaver Builder is active and lists every module and row extension.

Activate your license

Your license key turns on automatic updates and ticket support. Every module and row extension works with or without a key. Until you enter a key, administrators see a reminder on the Plugins screen and the Pond Apex page. Click Remind me later to hide it for 12 hours.

  1. Find your key on the store under My Account > Plugin Licenses.
  2. In wp-admin, go to Pond Apex > License.
  3. Paste your key into the License Key field.
  4. Click Activate License.
  5. Check the License Active box. It shows your License Type, Activations, and Expires date.
  6. To move the license to another site, click Deactivate License on this site first, then activate it on the new site. Click Check License Status any time to refresh the details.

Find the modules in Beaver Builder

  1. Open any page with Beaver Builder.
  2. Open the Modules panel.
  3. Choose the Pond Apex group from the group menu at the top of the panel.
  4. Find each module under its category: Animation, Creative, Interactive, Separators, or WooCommerce.
  5. Drag a module onto the page and set its options in the settings window.
  6. For row extensions, open a row's settings and click the Style tab. Each extension has its own section there.

Pond Apex admin pages

Pond Apex has no global settings to save. You set up each module and row extension inside Beaver Builder. The Pond Apex menu in wp-admin has three pages.

Pond Apex
Shows your version, license status, whether Beaver Builder is active, and a list of all modules and row extensions.
License
Enter, check, or deactivate your license key.
Demo Installer
Builds sample Beaver Builder pages that show each module and row extension. Use Import Demo Images, then Install All Demo Pages. Remove All Demo Pages deletes them again.

The 19 modules

Names below match what you see in the Beaver Builder module panel. The category is shown in brackets.

Animated Counter (Animation)
Counts up to a number when it scrolls into view. Set the Target Number, Prefix, Suffix, Comma Formatting, Decimal Places, Duration (s), and Easing, plus a Label below the number.
Lottie Player (Animation)
Plays a Lottie animation from a Lottie JSON URL or a Lottie JSON File you upload. Choose a Trigger (Autoplay, Viewport, Scroll Sync, Hover, or Click), Loop Count, Speed, Lazy Load, a Link, and Effects like Opacity, Blur, and Brightness.
Mouse Parallax (Animation)
Stacks a Background, Middle, and Foreground image that shift at different depths as the mouse moves. The Content Overlay tab adds a Heading and Text with a Text Shadow Strength slider.
Parallax Layers (Animation)
Moves a slow background image and a fast foreground image at different speeds as you scroll. Set the Intensity, Direction (Vertical or Horizontal), Height, and an Overlay Color.
Rotating Text (Animation)
Cycles through Rotating Words between your Before Text and After Text. Pick an Animation Mode (Typewriter, Fade, Slide Up, Slide Down, or Clip) and a Stopping option: keep rotating with a Pause button, or stop after 5 seconds.
Text Animator (Animation)
Reveals a heading word by word, character by character, or line by line as it scrolls into view. Effects include Fade Up, Scale Up, Blur In, Typewriter, Flip (3D), and Clip Reveal, with Stagger, Duration, and Loop Mode settings.

Adds a hover effect to an image. Effect Type choices are Zoom, Float, Grayscale, and Blur.
Image Swap (Creative)
Shows a Primary Image that changes to a Swap Image on hover. Transition Type choices are Crossfade, Slide Left, Slide Right, Flip Horizontal, and Flip Vertical. On touch screens, a tap swaps the image.
Jumping Cards (Creative)
A grid of cards with an image, title, description, and link that jump on hover, on scroll, or continuously (Trigger Type). Pick a Card Style preset, add a Rotating Glow, and set Columns for each screen size.
Link Hover Effects (Creative)
A text link with a hover effect. Effect Type choices include underlines from the left, right, or center, sliding backgrounds, Color Shift, Letter Spacing, and Arrow Slide.
Scroll Text Reveal (Creative)
Animates text as you scroll. Effects are Fade, Color Fill, Slide Up, Blur, Highlight, and Underline. Scroll Mode can follow the scroll position (Scrub) or play once (Trigger), and you can pin the text in place with a Progress Bar.
Before / After (Interactive)
A drag slider that compares a Before Image and an After Image. Set the Initial Position (%), Direction, Before Label, After Label, and Handle Label (screen readers). Visitors can also move the handle with the arrow keys.
Flip Box (Interactive)
A card with a front and back side. Flip Style choices are 3D Flip, Slide Reveal, Fade Swap, Zoom Out, Push, and Fold Open. The Trigger can be Hover, Click, or Scroll, with an optional Auto-Flip Timer, 3D Tilt Effect, and Badge.

Places markers on an image that open tooltips. Each marker can be an Icon, Text, or Image. Tooltips open on Hover or Click, and markers can have a Pulse Animation.
Pricing Table (Interactive)
Pricing columns with features, buttons, and an optional period toggle (for example monthly and yearly). Set prices for Period A and Period B, show an Original Price, and mark a column as Featured with Ribbon Text.
Sticky Scroll Tabs (Interactive)
A section that stays in place while visitors scroll through tabs of text and media. Layout choices are Text Left, Media Right; Media Left, Text Right; Stacked; Overlay; and Cinematic (Full-Screen). Each tab can show an image or video, and you can set the Scroll Height Per Tab.
Animated Separator (Separators)
An SVG shape divider such as a wave, curve, zigzag, mountains, or clouds. Animation Type choices are None, Drift (one sweep, then settles), Scroll Reveal, and Wave Morph. Set the Shape, Position, Flip, Height, and Shape Color.
Product Box (WooCommerce)
Shows a product image on a colored circle that shrinks on hover, with an optional swing. You type the Product Title, Price, Compare-at Price, Badge Text, and Subtitle yourself. Card Style Preset adds a Modern, Glass, or Outline card, and Hover Effect adds a lift.

The 7 row extensions

Row extensions add effects to a whole Beaver Builder row. Open the row's settings, click the Style tab, and open the section named below. Turn on the extension's enable setting to see the rest of its options.

Animated Background
Row settings > Style > Animated Background. Adds a moving background. Effect Type choices are Constellation, Gradient Waves, Aurora, Floating Bokeh, Starfield, Rising Particles, Noise Grain, Mesh Gradient, Fire, Smoke, Lasers (EDM), and Stage Lighting. Each effect has presets, colors, speed, and density, plus Mouse Interaction and Mobile Behavior.
Scroll Animator
Row settings > Style > Scroll Animator. Animates the row's content as you scroll. Mode choices are Scroll-Triggered, Pin + Animate, and Horizontal Scroll. Mobile Behavior lets you keep, reduce, or turn off the animation on phones.
Shape Animator
Row settings > Style > Shape Animation. Animates the top and bottom shapes you already added to the row in Beaver Builder. Animate Row Shapes can be Gentle Drift (plays once) or Scroll Reveal, with Drift Speed, Drift Direction, and Reveal Style.
Antigravity Hero
Row settings > Style > Antigravity Hero. Adds a 3D grid background with waves that bend toward the mouse. Set the Wave Speed, Distortion Strength, Grid Density, Accent Color, Background Color, and Mobile Behavior.
Festive Background
Row settings > Style > Festive Background. Adds Confetti, Fireworks, Sparkles, Champagne Pop, or Balloons. Choose a Preset or Custom mode, and a Trigger: on page load, when scrolled into view, a continuous loop, or manual.
Black Hole Background
Row settings > Style > Black Hole Background. Adds a 3D black hole with a glowing disk, stars, and optional meteors. Choose a Color Preset, Mouse Interaction preset, Mobile Behavior, and Reduced Motion setting.
Custom Cursor Effects
Row settings > Style > Custom Cursor. Replaces the mouse pointer inside the row. Cursor Type choices are Dot, Text Label, Icon, Color Invert, and Image, with Follow Speed, Hover Scale, and Hide Native Cursor.

Performance and accessibility

Reduced motion
Pond Apex checks the visitor's reduced motion setting on their device. When it is on, most modules show their content without motion. Parallax effects stay still, Rotating Text shows the first phrase, and Lottie animations hold on the first frame. Animated Background and Antigravity Hero do not animate. Festive Background and Black Hole Background follow the Reduced Motion setting you choose.
Motion that stops
Rotating Text shows a Pause button or stops after 5 seconds. Animated Separator drift and Shape Animator drift play one time and settle.
Parallax on phones
Parallax Layers and Mouse Parallax move only on larger screens with a mouse. On phones and tablets they show as still images.
Off-screen pausing
Animated Background, Antigravity Hero, and Black Hole Background pause when the row is off screen.
Mobile controls
Most row extensions have a Mobile Behavior setting. Use it to lower the effect or turn it off on phones to save battery.
Custom cursors on touch devices
Custom Cursor does not load on phones and tablets, since they have no mouse pointer.
Flashing lights
The Lasers effect has a Strobe Mode that is off by default. When you turn it on, visitors see a warning popup first. Strobe is turned off for visitors who prefer reduced motion.
Lazy loading
Lottie Player has a Lazy Load option that waits to load the animation file until it is near the screen.
Responsive images
Image modules output responsive images with width and height set, so browsers load the right size.
Screen readers and keyboards
Animated Counter puts the final number in the page for screen readers. The Before / After handle works with arrow keys and has a label you can set. Row shape dividers are hidden from screen readers since they are decorative.

Turning modules off

Pond Apex does not have a setting to turn single modules off. A module's files load only on pages that use it, so modules you do not use do not slow down your site.

To hide modules from the panel, use the module list in Beaver Builder's own settings in wp-admin.
